New PackEx facility to enhance Marianna’s economy and eco-focus

PackEx USA is bringing a $50 million investment to Jackson County, opening a 400,000 sq. ft. aluminum bottling facility in Marianna. The project will create 75 jobs and focus on sustainability, with plans to partner with local schools and reduce energy use through renewables.

As one of the few aluminum fillers on the East Coast, PackEx will serve major beverage brands and cruise lines, with 80% of capacity already committed. The facility opens January 1 and marks a big step forward in clean, local manufacturing.

First Mass-Production Facility for Industrial Linear Accelerators comes to Jackson County

Pulse Industries will establish a 278,000-square-foot advanced manufacturing facility at the Marianna Airport Industrial Park, marking a transformative milestone in the mass production of linear accelerator systems. This initiative will create hundreds of skilled jobs and profoundly expand the accessibility of electron beam technology for diverse global industries.

Darwin Gilmore named JCEDC President

The Jackson County Economic Development Council’s Executive Board has selected Marianna native Darwin Gilmore as their new President/CEO. Gilmore brings a wealth of knowledge to the Council, having been in the family business where he and his wife, Cheri, owned and operated two separate manufacturing companies, which turned into a 15-plus year exposure to small business management.

Jackson County Economic Development Committee Meetings

The Jackson County Economic Development Committee, Inc. Board of Directors meets quarterly (January, April, July, October) on the 4th Monday of the Month at 12:00 p.m. CST at the Historic Joseph Russ House located at 4318 Lafayette Street, Marianna, FL 32446.

The Jackson County Economic Development Committee, Inc. Executive Board meets monthly on the 2nd Monday of the Month at 11:00 a.m. cst in the same location.

In the case of a holiday the meeting is moved to the prior Monday.
