Jackson Hospital recognized by UNICEF as baby-friendly facility

Jackson Hospital recently earned the designation of a Designated Baby-Friendly Birth Facility by WHO (World Health Organization) and UNICEF (United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund). Facilities that have the designation has successfully implemented the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, which include providing education to families to make an informed decision about infant feeding, encouraging mothers to hold their babies skin-to-skin immediately following birth, and offering expert lactation support throughout and beyond the hospital stay.
